【Abstract】The web has revolutionized the way we interact with each other and with the world around us. Despite the increasing value of the cyberspace, what happens in the offline physical world is still very important. This talk will focus on studying individuals’ offline behaviors by mining their activities on the web. I will cover several of my studies related to this topic, including link predictions in online social networks, user behaviors in online health communities, and behavior diffusions in viral events.
