Information Sharing in Supply Chains under Competition
Abstract:
We will present the results of some current research on information sharing in supply chains under competition. We will consider two supply chain structures. The first one concerns with two supply chains each consisting of one manufacturer selling to one retailer and the two retailers compete in the same market. The second one concerns with a supply chain with two competing manufacturers selling through a common retailer. We investigate the incentive for a retailer to share demand information with a manufacturer and show how that incentive depends on production diseconomies of scale, competition intensity and the type of competition.
