Determining the Optimal Configuration of Hospital Inpatient Rooms in the Presence of Infectious Patients
Biography:
Professor Tezcan’s current research explores innovative ways of designing and managing health care delivery systems. He has collaborated with customer contact centers and hospitals to address issues relating to access. Professor Tezcan’s work has been published in Management Science, Operations Research, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, Annals of Applied Probability, and other journals. He was awarded the NSF Career Award in 2010 for his research and serves on the editorial boards of the journals Management Science, Operations Research, and Stochastic Systems. Professor Tezcan currently teaches courses on Operations Management, Business Analytics and Data Mining. Prior to joining Rice, he was on the faculties at the University of Illinois, the University of Rochester and London Business School. He also served as an academic director at London Business School. A native of Turkey, Professor Tezcan received his BS in Industrial Engineering from Bilkent University, MS in Industrial Engineering from Colorado State University Pueblo, and MS in Mathematics and Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Georgia Tech.
