The Fourth International Conference on Systems Science and Systems
Engineering (ICSSSE¡¯03), sponsored by the Systems Engineering Society
of China and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, in association
with IFSR, IIASA and the Japanese Institute of Systems Research,
and hosted by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, will be held
in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, China, in 2003.
The purpose of ICSSSE03 is to promote discussion and interaction
between researchers and practitioners with experience in various
areas and from different disciplines. It will provide an international
forum for scientists, engineers, researchers, consultants, theoreticians
and practitioners in the fields of Systems Science, Systems Engineering,
Cybernetics and Management Sciences.
Topics
The Conference will cover a broad range of research topics related
to Systems Science, Systems Engineering, Cybernetics and Management
Sciences. They include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Information Systems / Decision Support Systems
- Optimization and Forecasting Techniques
- Human and Machine Systems
- Systems Management
- Complex Systems
- Systems Methodology
- Knowledge Systems
- Systems Theory
- Living Systems
- Applications
- AI and Fuzzy Systems
- Modeling and Simulation
Important Dates
- July. 15, 2003: 1-page, 300-word extended abstract submission
- Aug. 15, 2003: Notification of acceptance
- Sept. 30, 2003: 6-page full paper (camera-ready) submission
and pre-registration
Call for Contributed Papers
Papers on issues related to Systems Science, Systems Engineering,
Cybernetics and Management Sciences are welcome. The papers should
be written in English. The first page of each paper must include
the following information: title of the paper; name(s) and affiliation(s)
of the authors; abstract of the paper; postal address, phone and
fax numbers, and email address of the corresponding author. Papers

two sessions) is to provide focused discussions on new topics or
innovative applications. Each prospective session/track organizer
must submit a proposal, including the title of the session, and
a list of authors with extended abstracts.
Registration
Registration fee: US$250 before 30 September 2003, and US$300 afterwards.
